One year ago my first collection of poetry, “A Confederacy of Joy” was published. What an overwhelming and mysterious gift coming back to poetry in such a force that I had never known. As Pablo Neruda wrote in his poem, “Poetry” :
“and suddenly I saw
with arrows, fire and flowers,
the winding night, the universe.
And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
likeness, image of
felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.”
Thanks to all my friends for your support and attentions. Just as when we speak we dream of being heard – so it is when I write, I love you for listening.
